A group of pedalo paddlers have raised almost £5,000 for the Dorothy House Hospice at Winsley with a 40 mile trip from Great Bedwyn to Bathampton on the Kennet & Avon Canal at the weekend.
The one-mile-an-hour marathon which also involved carrying their cumbersome craft past 51 locks, including the Caen Hill Flight, was undertaken by the family and friends of Vicky Strong who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in January last year, and spent her last four weeks at the hospice.
